Rick Sundberg - Founder of Hard 90 Baseball
Rick Sundberg, the founder of Hard 90 Baseball, brings over 30 years of experience in coaching baseball, including mentoring several major league players. His extensive coaching tenure and passion for developing young talent have been pivotal in establishing Hard 90’s reputation as a premier training ground for aspiring athletes.
Coach Tony Vargas
With over 20 years of coaching experience, both at high school and summer camps, Coach Vargas is a veteran who has also had the privilege of coaching major league players. His deep understanding of the game and commitment to player development continue to make significant impacts on our campers.
Joe Marcucci
Coach Joe Marcucci, known affectionately as Coach Joe, began his baseball journey at the tender age of 6. His illustrious youth career included two visits to Cooperstown and participation in a world tournament. A standout player at South San Francisco High School and later at Canada College, Coach Joe brings a rich history of competitive play and accolades, making him a fantastic resource for our campers.
Coach Michael Benton
Leading our hard-hitting program, Coach Benton has over a decade of experience in coaching baseball. A local legend at Franklin High School and a star player at UCSD, his profound knowledge and experience are invaluable in nurturing the next generation of hitters at Hard 90.
Ariana Riojas - Softball Coach
We are excited to welcome Ariana Riojas as our new softball coach. Starting her softball journey at age 5, Coach Ariana has developed through the ranks, displaying formidable skills as a middle infielder at Lincoln High School and later honing her prowess at Folsom Lake College. Her passion and expertise are sure to inspire and elevate our softball campers.
Chase Mueller
Chase Mueller, currently a standout player at Ponderosa High School and an Abilene Christian softball commit, rounds out our summer camp coaching lineup. Her recent player perspective and ongoing achievements provide fresh insights and motivation to our softball campers.
