Velocity Is Not Just For Pitchers

August 6, 2018

Many parents we have spoken with over the years believe that velocity is only important for pitchers; however, if you desire to play baseball at a high level that is simply not the case.

Velocity is the measurement of the throw tool - one of the five tools that are measured in baseball to determine the talent level of a player.  If you desire to play baseball at the elite Division I level, most players can throw the baseball 85 mph - thus developing throwing mechanics for maximum velocity and arm health are important.

At Hard 90 Baseball many of our elite players have participate in both Power Pitching and our High School Velocity to develop their throw tool.

Ichiro - noted for having one of the best outfield arms in history - in the Power Position as he is getting ready to throw a runner out.
