Coach Rick has been playing baseball since he was 5 years old. He grew up in Burlingame, California and is the founder of Hard 90 Baseball.

He spent his high school baseball career at Mills High School. During this time, he earned MVP for each of his 4 years of high school. Rick played college baseball at Santa Clara University from 1977 to 1981, where he was a catcher. He earned MVP in 1981. After college, Rick was drafted by the California Angels in 1981 and played with them for 2 years. He started Starmaker Baseball Academy in Redwood City after his professional career.

He moved to the Sacramento Area in 2005, where he started Hard 90 Baseball in Roseville. He has been coaching there ever since. Rick moved Hard 90 up to El Dorado Hills in 2010. Coach Rick is available for private lessons on both hitting and catching. He is coaching the 14u Hustle this travel ball season.
